A new normal is being established
Everybody we work with is working in the new normal for safety. Face masks, social distancing, and clean workspaces. New habits and have been developed and I am proud with everyone’s compliance. We have dovetailed in virtual meetings that have allowed work to proceed smoothly.
The new normal will be more homes to be built for clients than finished spec homes for clients to purchase. Lenders have been more conservative lending to builders for speculative construction. Lenders are more comfortable funding presales.
The new normal for lot inventories will be an environment of even lower lot availability. Most developers backed off developing new lots this year. Homes sales have picked up which has decreased existing finished lot inventories. A shortage of finished lots is right around the corner.
The new normal for the home is now required to have designs for working environments, classrooms, family entertainment centers, virtual meeting platforms, renewed focus on cooking and eating at home, home healthcare, exercise/hobby centers, sanctuaries, staycations and I am sure many more functions not mentioned.
